The present invention relates to a device (1) for preparing a laminated dough piece (4) rolled up with separator sheet (5), comprising a supplier (2) for supplying the laminated dough piece on separator sheet in a transport direction (3), the laminated dough piece having a length (6) in the transport direction of and a width (7) perpendicular to the transport direction, a rolling chamber (8), contiguous to the supplier in the transport direction, wherein the supplier is configured for transporting at least part of a laminated dough piece on a separator sheet at least over a predetermined distance in a direction oriented upward, towards the rolling chamber.
