PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily generate a two-dimensional color image, while enabling acquisition of three-dimensional information on an observation object.SOLUTION: An endoscope apparatus 1 includes: an optical system 2 that condenses light from a subject a two-dimensional sensor 3 with a color filter 3 that is arranged on an image formation plane T of the optical system 2, and photographs the light condensed by the optical system 2 an optical mask that has two first openings 9 arranged at intervals in a direction crossing an optical axis, and has two kinds of wavelength selection filters 10 having mutually different transmission wavelength bands individually arranged in the first openings 9 and a mask state change-over part that alternatively changes over a status of the optical mask to a first state where light made incident on the two-dimensional sensor 3 with the color filter passes through only the first openings 9 or a second state where the light made incident on the two-dimensional sensor 3 with the color filter does not pass through the first openings 9. Two kinds of wavelength selection filters 10 of the optical mask have a transmission wavelength band overlapping any color filter of the two-dimensional sensor 3 with the color filter.
