PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device capable of synthesizing illumination light from each luminous source and emitting the illumination light having high luminance by using a synthesis optical system with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: There is employed an illuminating device 1 comprising: a plurality of luminous source groups 15, 35 and 55 individually constituted of a pair of luminous sources disposed such that optical axes thereof face toward directions intersecting with each other a tabular optical disk 101 disposed on an intersection of the optical axes of the pair of luminous sources in the plurality of luminous source groups 15, 35 and 55 and having a transmission region and a reflection region a motor for rotating the optical disk 101 about a normal and a controller synchronizing the pair of luminous sources with rotation of the motor and causes the pair of luminous sources to emit light in a pulse-like manner.
