A device (1) for manufacturing an absorbent body (A) of an absorbent article is provided with: a feed device (11) that feeds an absorbent material which forms the absorbent body a mold member (21) having a concavity part (23) which has a shape conforming to the shape of a single unit of the absorbent body to be manufactured and in which the absorbent material fed from the feed device is deposited and a suction drum (31) which is rotatable around an axis (31A) the mold member being attached to an outer peripheral surface (31S) of the suction drum and the suction drum suctioning the absorbent material through a suction hole formed in the concavity part of the mold member to deposit the absorbent material in the concavity part. The mold member is constituted by a plurality of plate members (25) which are serially juxtaposed in the rotation direction of the suction drum and which are provided so as to be freely separated from each other. The plate members include recessed sections (27) which form the concavity part and which have different maximum depths from each other.
