PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a personal identification device, which uses the information of a subject inside a living body, small in size and thin in thickness, to prevent a processing for the subject from becoming complex, and makes it less apt to be affected by the fluctuations of the subject distance due to the personal difference or the like of skin thickness.SOLUTION: A blood vessel 2 inside the finger 1 is imaged by an imaging element 6 as a compound-eye image via an imaging optical system including a lens eye 3 and a shielding member 6. Preprocessing for removing the shadow region of the shielding member 6 is operated to the imaged compound eye image by a preprocessing part 101. When personal data are to be registered, the preprocessed compound-eye image is stored in a registration data storage part 104 by a registration processing part 103. At authentication of personal identification, personal authentication is performed, by collating the preprocessed compound-eye image with the registration data in an identification processing part 105.COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT【課題】生体内部の被写体の情報を利用する個人認証装置の小型薄型化を図り、被写体像に対する処理の複雑化を防止し、皮膚厚さの個人差等による被写体距離の変動の影響を受けにくくする。
