<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for identifying the candidate substance of an obesity-suppressing agent. <；P>；SOLUTION: The method for selecting the candidate substance of the obesity-suppressing agent includes making a test substance in contact with cells, measuring the expression of an MXD3 gene in the cells, and in the case that the expression of the MXD3 gene is inhibited on making the contact with the test substance as compared with not making the contact, and selecting the test substance as the candidate substance of the obesity-suppressing agent. Preferably, the contact of the test substance with the cells is performed by administering the test substance to zebra fishes.
