The present invention provides methods of treating or preventing a medical condition that is responsive to a bisphosphonate compound in a subject. The methods comprise administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of the bisphosphonate no less frequently than a bi-weekly dosage schedule.
