A device is proposed for attachment to a stomach. The device includes two elongate segments which can be fastened to each other at each of their ends, thereby embracing a section of the stomach. The connection at one of the ends is via a strap on one of the segments which can be attached at any one of multiple locations along the strap, to a buckle on the other segment. This permits the force which the device applies to the stomach to be selected. The elongate segments are intended to be attached to the stomach with the segments directed generally parallel to the direction in which food passes through the entrance to the stomach (cardia) to the location where it exits the stomach (pyloric atrium). The device can therefore define a channel within the stomach extending between these two locations along which food can pass. Preferably, the segments are curved, so that the channel is curved. Optionally, flaps can be provided on the device, for folding over the greater curvature of the stomach.Cette invention concerne un dispositif à fixer à lestomac, ledit dispositif comportant deux segments allongés qui peuvent être attachés lun à lautre par chacune de leur extrémité de manière à embrasser une section de lestomac. Cette disposition permet de choisir la force exercée sur lestomac par le dispositif. Les segments allongés sont conçus pour être attachés à lestomac généralement parallèlement à la direction quemprunte le bol alimentaire depuis le cardia jusquau pylore. Le dispositif définit ainsi un canal dans lestomac entre ces deux ouvertures le long duquel passe le bol alimentaire. Les segments sont de préférence courbes pour que le canal le soit aussi. Le dispositif comporte éventuellement des volets à replier sur la plus grande courbure de lestomac.
