PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable optometry apparatus which allows an examiner to identify the top or bottom of a subject eye or to identify whether the subject eye is the right eye or left eye even when the subject person is lying or regardless of whether the examiner is at the subject persons foot side or head side.SOLUTION: A portable optometry apparatus 1 comprises: an optical scanning type ophthalmoscope body 2 integrating an optical scanning type optical system 100 which allows an examiner to examine a subject eyes and a grip part 3 for supporting the optical scanning type ophthalmoscope body 2, an examiner being allowed to hold the grip part 3 to examine the subject eye. The portable optometry apparatus 1 further comprises: a forehead support member 40 and top-and-bottom detection switches 45, 46 for discriminating the top-bottom direction of a subject eye and an eyepiece 20 and right-and-left detection switches 30, 31 for determining whether the subject eye is the right or left eye.
