A photo-degradable chewing gum base composition including an elastomer； and a block copolymer of vinyl acetate and methylphenylsilane having a structure of formula (I) wherein m and p are integers in the range of 1 to 500, and n is an integer in the range of 2 to 100, is disclosed. The block copolymer facilitates environmental degradation of improperly disposed chewing gum cuds. Also described is a method of preparing a photo-degradable chewing gum composition.La présente invention concerne une composition de base de gomme à mâcher photodégradable comprenant un élastomère ； et un copolymère séquencé d'acétate de vinyle et de méthylphénylsilane ayant une structure de formule (I) dans laquelle m et p sont des entiers dans la plage de 1 à 500, et n est un entier dans la plage de 2 à 100. Le copolymère séquencé facilite la dégradation dans l'environnement de gommes à mâcher usagées qui sont rejetées de façon incorrecte.
