PURPOSE: A method for preventing bacterial spot in tomatoes using Methylobacterium sp. CBMB12 is provided to promote the growth of the crops and to increase production yield by a natural eco-friendly method without toxicity. CONSTITUTION: Methylobacterium sp. CBMB12 (KACC 91707P) prevents bacterial spot in tomatoes. A composition for preventing bacterial spot in tomatoes contains the strain or a culture liquid thereof as an active ingredient. The pathogen causing bacterial spot is Xanthomonas campestris pv. Vesicatoria. A method for preventing bacterial spot in tomatoes comprises the step of spraying effective amount of Methylobacterium sp. CBMB12 to plants or soil.본 발명은 토마토의 반점세균병에 대해 방제 활성이 있는 메틸로박테리움 sp. CBMB12 균주, 상기 균주 또는 이의 배양액을 유효성분으로 포함하는 토마토의 반점세균병 방제용 조성물, 상기 메틸로박테리움 sp. CBMB12 균주의 유효량을 식물 또는 토양에 살포함으로써 토마토의 반점세균병을 방제하는 방법 및 상기 메틸로박테리움 sp. CBMB12 균주를 배양하는 단계를 포함하는 토마토의 반점세균병 방제용 조성물의 제조 방법을 제공한다.
