PURPOSE: A method for preventing bacterial spot in red pepper using Methylobacterium oryzae CBMB20 is provided to promote the growth of the crops and to increase production yield through a natural eco-friendly method without toxicity to human body. CONSTITUTION: Methylobacterium oryzae CBMB20 (KACC 11585P) prevents bacterial spot in red pepper. A composition for preventing bacterial spot in red pepper contains the strain or a culture liquid thereof as an active ingredient. A pathogen causing bacterial spot is Xanthomonas campestris pv. Vesicatoria. A method for preventing bacterial spot in red pepper comprises the step of spraying effective amount of the strain to plants or soil.본 발명은 고추의 반점세균병에 대해 방제 활성이 있는 메틸로박테리움 오라이자 CBMB20 균주, 상기 균주 또는 이의 배양액을 유효성분으로 포함하는 고추의 반점세균병 방제용 조성물, 상기 메틸로박테리움 오라이자 CBMB20 균주의 유효량을 식물 또는 토양에 살포함으로써 고추의 반점세균병을 방제하는 방법 및 상기 메틸로박테리움 오라이자 CBMB20 균주를 배양하는 단계를 포함하는 고추의 반점세균병 방제용 조성물의 제조 방법을 제공한다.
