PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide packaged cut lettuce that is free from deterioration such as discoloration, wilting, deterioration of taste and smells due to increase of bacteria.SOLUTION: Cut lettuce is the packaged cut lettuce packed in a packaging container. The packaged cut lettuce is characterized in that the amount of organic matter deposited on a surface of the cut lettuce stored at temperature of 0-15°C after manufacture for one day and taken out from the packaging container is 40 ppm or less as the COD of the washing water obtained by immersing and washing the cut lettuce of 50 g using water of 500 mL, and the general viable bacteria count of the cut lettuce is 1×10-1×10CFU/g, and preferably, the above conditions may be kept after being stored at 0-15°C after manufacture for five days.SELECTED DRAWING: None
