CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for suppressing osteoclast differentiation contains Sorbus commixta extract, Geranium nepalense extract, and a mixture thereof as active ingredients. A pharmaceutical composition for regenerating or protecting bone or cartilage contains the extract of Sorbus commixta, Geranium nepalense, or mixture thereof as active ingredients. The extract is isolated using water, anhydrous or hydrous low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, a mixture solvent of the low alcohol and water, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform, butyl acetate, butylenes glycol, propylene glycol, dichloromethane, hexane, diethyl ether, or mixture thereof.본 발명은 마가목 추출물 또는 현지초 추출물 또는 이들의 혼합물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 골 및 연골 조직 손상 질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 조성물은 파골세포의 분화 억제활성 및/또는 연골세포의 분화 촉진활성을 나타냄으로써 골조직 또는 연골조직의 보호 및 재생 효과를 가지므로, 연골 및 뼈 손상을 동반하는 질환의 예방 또는 치료를 위한 용도로 광범위하게 응용될 수 있다.
