PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the individual difference and change of susceptibility of a person who ingests a food ingredient, or an evaluation method of prediction etc. of influence given to the ingestion of other components by taking the susceptibility into consideration. SOLUTION: The method for determining the action of an examined substance to one or more genes among a given gene cluster includes: detecting at least one gene selected by a gene cluster from a sample collected from a subject organism which the examined substance is brought into contact with, is ingested by, or is administered to; and associating the obtained detection result with the action of the examined substance.
