PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the entire apparatus and to lower costs, in a fluorescent image obtainment apparatus for obtaining an ordinary image and a fluorescent image by illuminating a body to be observed with illumination light and excitation light.
SOLUTION: An illumination light source means is driven so as to continuously output illumination light, and an excitation light source means is pulse-driven so as to output pulsed excitation light. A first image composed of light reflected from the body to be observed is captured in a time period T1 when the body to be observed is illuminated only with the illumination light in the process of continuously illuminating the body to be observed with the illumination light and illuminating substantially the same part as the part illuminated with the illumination light with the pulsed excitation light, and a second image composed of the light reflected from the body to be observed and fluorescence output from the body to be observed is captured in a time period T2 when the body to be observed is illuminated with both of the illumination light and the excitation light. An ordinary image is produced on the basis of the first image, and a fluorescent image is produced on the basis of the first image and the second image.
