What is provided is a vine-clearing appliance for weed and grass growth between the vines of a vineyard, which can be attached laterally between the axles of a row tractor to a hydraulic raising and lowering device and which consists of a motor connected to the hydraulic circuit of the tractor and carrying a cutting disc for the elimination of the growth and also, rotatably about its housing, an implement housing, in which a further cutting disc is mounted next to the first cutting disc so as to be driven in rotation by the hydraulic motor, the outer contour of the implement housing being slightly larger than the looping contour of the two cutting discs arranged next to one another. In the working position of the appliance, the direction of rotation of the hydraulic motor corresponds to the direction in which the implement housing is swung out against the stop.
