PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent hair-treating composition which has a sufficient moisture-retaining sense-imparting effect to damaged hair but does not cause a demerit of hair volume-down, worried when used for healthy hair.SOLUTION: There is provided a hair-treating composition characterized by comprising L-theanine and a sugar carboxylate. The hair-treating composition can be used not only as hair care agents such as shampoos, hair rinses, and hair treatment agents, but also as hair dyeing agents, permanent wave agents, and the like.
