PURPOSE: An oil-in-water type cosmetic composition containing a sodium polyacrylate polymer, and a method for preparing the same are provided to improve adhesion and persistence.CONSTITUTION: An oil-in-water type foundation cosmetic composition contains sodium polyacrylate as a water-soluble thickening agent. The cosmetic composition additionally contains glycerin, 1,3-butylene glycol, and a pigment ingredient. The pigment ingredient is selected from the group consisting of talc, titanium dioxide, ferric oxide, and a mixture thereof.
