This endoscope is provided with: an insertion unit an operation unit arranged on the base of the insertion unit a connection unit which has a connection tube having a slit arranged in at least a curved portion or a flexible portion and extending axially of the insertion unit, and a pipe member arranged on the outside of at least the tip side or the base side of the connection tube and having a depression a terminal member which has a main body and an engagement unit and which is held in a state in which the engagement unit is engaged with the slit in the pipe member, with the engagement unit arranged in the depression of the pipe member and engaged with the slit of the connection tube and a long, thin extension member having one end fixed to the main body of the terminal member and the other end extending towards the operation unit, and capable of being gaplessly arranged against the inner circumference of the connection unit.
