A seed sowing machine particularly for sowing cotton comprises a hopper 1 and a distributing wheel 2 provided with notches and mechanically coupled to a wheel 17 formed with blades 18 which sweep the seeds into the notches. The wheels 2, 17 are driven by bevel gearing 9. A spring-urged ball 27 is used to eject the seeds into a duct 26. A partition 19 is fixed inside the hopper 1 and is provided with a flexible scraping element for removing excess seeds from the notches.
