PURPOSE: A defrosting operation method of a kimchi refrigerator is provided to defrost kimchi refrigerator by the compressor operating time of each room and operating modes of each indirect cooling room in the complex-type refrigerator. CONSTITUTION: A control unit integrates each compressor operating time for multiple rooms. In case the multiple rooms are in the same operating modes and any one of compressor operating time reaches the first set-up time, defrosting operation is performed to all multiple rooms and the compressor operating time is initialized. In case the multiple rooms are not in the identical operating modes and when the compressor operating time of freezing rooms with the preset operating mode of freezing reaches the first set-up time or the second set-up time which is longer than the first set-up time, the defrosting operation is performed. When the compressor operating time of the freezing room reaches the first set-up time, defrosting operating is performed for the freezing room. When the compressor operating time of the freezing room reaches the second set-up time, defrosting operation is performed to all multiple rooms and the compressor operating time is initialized. When the compressor operating time of the freezing room reaches the second set-up time, the operating mode of the compressor operating time of the freezing room preset to the freezing mode does not reach the third set-up time which is shorter than the first set-up time, defrosting operation is performed and the compressor operating time is initialized. The second set-up time may be the twice of the first set-up time.
