A method of selectively driving each of compartments in any one mode among a refrigerating mode or a freezing mode by supplying refrigerant to each of the compartments through a coolant control valve comprises the following steps: determining whether a compressor stops or not； checking whether each compartment was operating if the compressor stops as a result of the determination； and changing the position of the coolant control valve toward a compartment that was not operating when the compressor stops according to whether each compartment was operating.본 발명은 냉매 제어 밸브를 통해 각 저장실로 냉매를 공급하여 각 저장실을 냉장 모드 또는 냉동 모드 중 어느 하나로 선택적으로 운전시키는 과정에서, 압축기가 정지하는지를 판단하는 단계, 판단 결과, 압축기가 정지하면, 저장실별로 운전 중이었는지 여부를 체크하는 단계 및 저장실별 운전 여부에 따라 압축기 정지시 운전 정지 상태의 저장실측으로 냉매 제어 밸브의 위치를 변경하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
