PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely store excrement in a rear pocket of an absorbent article by improving the closeness of contact with a wearer in a region near an opening of a rear absorbent core at the widthwise center of the absorbent article.

SOLUTION: In the absorbent article 1, the rear pocket 27 is formed between the rear absorbent core 222 and a back sheet 23. A pair of approximately parallel weakening lines 241a extending from a core edge 2221 in the longitudinal direction and an auxiliary weakening line 242 between the pair of weakening lines 241a along the lateral direction are formed in the center area in the lateral direction of the rear absorbent core 222. When the absorbent article 1 is worn, the rear absorbent core 222 are folded along the weakening lines 241a and the auxiliary weakening line 242, and a projecting part 240 is formed. As the projecting part 240 is closely brought into contact with the crevice at the buttocks of the wearer, the closeness of contact with the wearer, at the widthwise center of the absorbent article 1, is improved in the region near the opening 25 of the rear absorbent core 222, and the excrement is securely stored in the rear pocket 27.
