A method and terminal for adjusting a CPU operation parameter. The method comprises: determining, when activating an application program, whether a CPU configuration parameter corresponding to the application program is preset (S10); and if so, adjusting a current CPU operation parameter according to the CPU configuration parameter so as to operate the application program according to the CPU configuration parameter (S20). The method and terminal determine an operation mode corresponding to each of application programs, thus effectively utilizing a CPU resource, and saving power consumption of a system.
