PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support column for assisting creeping of a plant, which can effectively assist the creeping of the plant having clinging roots, can create a landscape with a presence feeling of the plant in a short period of time, and has free designability.SOLUTION: A support column 10 for assisting creeping is formed of at least one long-sized metal or resin material with its horizontal cross section formed to be an approximately recessed shape, and an attachment material 11 to which clinging roots of a plant cling is arranged in the recessed space. The attachment material 11 is formed of fiber, cloth, wood, or resin. The support column 10 for assisting the creeping has a shape such that a cylindrical body having a hollow part is extended from a cutting line along its longitudinal direction and bent.
