PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for raising plants, demonstrating excellent water retentivity even when arranged in a vertical or inclined form, and to provide a method for raising plants using the material for raising plants.SOLUTION: This material D for raising plants is obtained by laminating and connecting a root growing layer T containing water for allowing plants G to stretch roots Gr, a base cloth S of a pile cloth E obtained by thoroughly setting fiber-made many piles P on one side of the base cloth S allowing the roots Gr of the plants G to pierce, and a synthetic resin-made support base B, and forms a block-like state as a whole. The main organs excluding the roots Gr in the raised plants G are placed on an inverse side of the root growing layer T, viewing from the piles P, and stretch roots Gr in the root growing layer T. The support base B supports the whole in a condition that the direction of the root growing layer T forms in a vertical or inclined form, and a watering pipe path W is formed on one side of the support base B.COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】 垂直状又は傾斜状に配置した場合にも優れた保水性を発揮し得る植物育成材及びその植物育成材を用いた植物育成方法の提供。【解決手段】 植物育成材Dは、植物Gが根Grを張るための含水可能な根生育層Tと、植物Gの根Grが貫通し得る基布Sの一方の側に繊維製の多数のパイルPを満遍なく設けてなるパイル布Eの基布Sと、合成樹脂製支持基盤Bが積層接合されてなり、全体としてブロック状をなす。育成植物Gにおける根Gr以外の主要器官は、パイルPからみて根生育層Tと逆側に位置し、根生育層Tに根Grを張る。支持基盤Bは、根生育層Tの方向が垂直状又は傾斜状をなす状態で全体を支持し得る。支持基盤Bの一辺に潅水管路部Wを形成する。【選択図】 図1
