PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a health supplement food which contains a fiber component and improves bowel movement.SOLUTION: A method for producing a health supplement food includes: a crushing step of crushing bamboo material such as Phyllostachys pubescens, Japanese bamboo and small bamboo into small pieces of a required size a press-kneading step of press-kneading the small pieces of bamboo material which have been crushed in the crushing step with a press-extruding device with at least an inner pressure of 15 kg/cmor more and a step of cutting the bamboo material with a cutter into a minced state, and discharging the bamboo material into air from a nozzle having many holes. The cutting and discharging step includes: dismantling a hard tissue and a soft tissue by swelling and diffusing dissociating cellulose and hemicellulose forming a cell wall from lignin into fibrillated bamboo fiber chopped strands and crushing the bamboo fiber chopped strands into fine powder of 10-200 micron.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
