PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of effectively inactivating endotoxin and a method of simply manufacturing endotoxin-free water, and particularly the method of effectively inactivating endotoxin without any influence on experiment instruments made of various raw materials, reagents and effective components of medicament as much as possible under the condition of inactivating endotoxin, and further the endotoxin inactivating apparatus for inactivating such endotoxin and the apparatus for producing endotoxin-free water.
SOLUTION: As the inactivating condition for endotoxin, the processing is performed under the condition of highly saturated steam. Although a strong heat treatment is needed for inactivation in the conventional method, it is found that endotoxin can be enough inactivated in a hydrothermal process having mild conditions concerning the pressure and temperature.
