PURPOSE: A refrigerator and a control method thereof are provided to perform an optimum maturing at a proper maturing time and temperature for meats and to store meat in a optimum condition at a proper storing temperature for the meats after the maturing.CONSTITUTION: A control method of a refrigerator is as follows. Temperature of a storage room is maintained at a maturing temperature. The temperature of the storage room is set at a cooling temperature which is lower than the maturing temperature so that the storage room is cooled. Meats are matured by repeating a process of maintaining the maturing temperature and a process of cooling the storage room at the cooling temperature. The temperature of the storage room is maintained for an hour at the maturing temperature which is set in advance(220).
