PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an absorber which can suppress fibrillation faults of a synthetic fiber regardless of a feeding speed of a synthetic fiber sheet and can manufacture the absorber including the synthetic fiber and a pulp fiber at a desired mixture ratio.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing an absorber 100 includes a fibrillation process in which a belt-like pulp sheet 10as formed of a pulp fiber 10a and a belt-like synthetic fiber sheet 10bs formed of a synthetic fiber 10b are fibrillated by using a fibrillation machine 21 and an accumulation process in which the fibrillated pulp fiber 10a and synthetic fiber 10b are mixed while conveying in the scattered state and are accumulated in an accumulating recessed part 41.
