PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible absorber with excellent absorbency, capable of efficiently preventing leakage of a liquid by controlling diffusion of the liquid and capable of being easily manufactured and a method of efficiently manufacturing the absorber.
SOLUTION: The absorber 10 has an absorbent core 11 including fiber webs 12. The fiber web is mainly composed of synthetic or semi-synthetic fibers. When synthetic or semi-synthetic fibers are divided according to the ratio of the fiber length to the whole length L of the absorbent core 11 into a first fiber group at the ratio of less than 1/4, a second fiber group at the ratio of at least 1/4 and less than 2/4, a third fiber group at the ratio of at least 2/4 and less than 3/4 and a fourth fiber group at the ratio of at least 3/4, fibers in at least three of the first-fourth fiber groups are included in the fiber web.
