PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article that follows the movement of a user in both cases when dried or wetted and is superior in absorbency.SOLUTION: An absorbent article includes a liquid-permeable layer, a liquid-impermeable layer, and an absorber provided between the liquid-permeable layer and the liquid-impermeable layer. The absorber contains an absorbent core comprising a plurality of absorbent core portions, and a base material sheet for fixing the plurality of absorbent core portions. The plurality of absorbent core portions are spaced apart each other and fixed to the base material sheet. The absorbent core contains a cellulosic absorbent fiber, and a thermoplastic resin fiber containing an unsaturated carboxylic acid, an unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride or those mixtures as a monomer component. Then, the thermoplastic resin fiber is connected with the absorbent fiber and/or other thermoplastic resin fiber.
