PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a very safe fat accumulation inhibitor that can effectively carry out fat accumulation inhibition and/or a reduction in the amount of accumulated fat (inhibiting hypertrophy of adipocytes or suppressing differentiation thereof).SOLUTION: The fat accumulation inhibitor comprises a solvent extract of Mallotus japonicus tree bark as an active ingredient. Also, the fat accumulation inhibitor has a solvent extraction concentration of Mallotus japonicus bark of 100 to 1000 μg/ml.
