PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine packaging apparatus which eliminates need of a tension bar when performing printing while an ink ribbon and a continuous sheet for packaging are brought into contact with each other.SOLUTION: A medicine packaging apparatus includes: a reader-writer 54 which reads information from an IC tag 100 provided on a supply core 31 of an ink ribbon roll detachably provided on an ink ribbon cassette 3 and writes the information； a motor control unit 56 which controls a winding motor for rotating a winding core 32 on the basis of the information read from the IC tag 100； and a writing information output unit 53 for outputting information which exhibits a used amount of an ink ribbon to the reader-writer 54 as the information for writing into the IC tag 100.
