The present invention is to evaluate a brain function using a binocular rivalry phenomenon. Each image is output to the eyes of a subject and the gaze of the subject is tracked or EEG is measured. The gaze position and/or brainwave of the subject is/are used to determine an image of winning the binocular rivalry, and evaluates the brain function of the subject according to the determination. Since the brain function is evaluated based on the visual information processing ability of the subject, early diagnosis of various brain diseases is easy. In particular, it can be used for early diagnosis of dementia, which has an increased incidence rate and mortality rate as our society becomes an aging society. As the early diagnosis of brain diseases is facilitated, not only an individual′s suffering and economic costs but also social costs can be reduced.본 발명은 양안 경쟁 현상을 이용하여 뇌 기능을 평가하기 위한 것으로서, 피검진자의 두 눈에 각각 이미지를 출력한 후 피검진자의 시선을 추적하거나 또는 뇌파를 측정한다. 그리고, 피검진자의 시선 위치 및/또는 뇌파를 이용하여 양안 경쟁에서 승리한 이미지를 판정하고, 그 판정에 따라 피검진자의 뇌 기능을 평가한다. 피검진자의 시각 정보 처리 능력을 기초로 뇌 기능을 평가하므로, 각종 뇌 질환의 조기 진단이 용이하고, 특히 고령화 사회가 되어감에 따라 발병률과 사망률이 높아가는 치매의 조기 진단에 사용될 수 있다. 뇌 질환의 조기 진단이 용이하게 이루어짐에 따라, 개인의 고통과 경제적 비용뿐 아니라 사회적 비용도 줄일 수 있게 된다.
