The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing a neurodegenerative brain disease by calculating a brain structure abnormality index using cortical thickness estimated values quantitatively standardized from a normal brain MR image and cortical thickness measurement values obtained from the brain MR image of a subject. As described above, the present invention analyzes a brain structure using a high-resolution 3D brain image analysis technique and uses the results for diagnosis. Therefore, the present invention can be utilized not only for diagnosis of dementia but also for diagnosis of various neurodegenerative brain diseases that cause cognitive disorders.본 발명은 정상인의 뇌 MR영상으로부터 정량 표준화 한 피질두께 추정값, 및 피험자의 뇌 MR영상으로부터 수득한 피질두께 측정값을 이용하여 뇌 구조 비정상도 지수를 산출하고, 이로부터 퇴행성 뇌질환을 진단하는 방법을 제공한다. 이와 같이, 본 발명은 고해상도 3차원 뇌영상 분석기술을 이용하여 뇌 구조를 분석하고 이를 진단에 이용하므로, 치매뿐만 아니라 인지장애를 유발하는 다양한 퇴행성 뇌질환 검진에 유용하게 활용할 수 있다.
