The present invention relates to the field of the treatment of plant material, in particular of the plant material of the propagation of reproduction, for example, the seeds. The process according to the invention comprises the application to all or part of the surface of a plant material of an aqueous dispersion comprising (a) of the particles of at least one polymer "hydroswellable" and (b) at least one compound chosen from an inorganic salt, an organic salt, an organic polymer dispersing agent, and mixtures thereof. The present invention also relates to the plant material treated, as well as its use for the culture or for the production of a plant.Linvention concerne le domaine du traitement de matériel végétal, en particulier du matériel végétal de propagation ou de reproduction, par exemple des semences.
