The invention relates to an aid to help persons rise from a seated position to a standing position. A handle element is arranged between two frame elements and is connected to the frame elements or can be connected to them. At least one of the frame elements has a length, or at least one of the frame elements can be used to set a length, at which it reaches from the handle element at least as far as the ground when a seated person grips the handle element with his or her hands. A support element, which is elastic at least in some areas, is secured on the frame elements or can be secured thereon. The support element is arranged between the frame elements at a height that covers the range between a minimum and a maximum height of the head of the tibia of a seated person.
