PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing composition and sterilizing detergent composition, further in detail, especially the sterilizing composition and sterilizing detergent composition hardly decreasing the sterilizing power of a cationic sterilizer in the case of mingling contaminating soil such as a protein, etc., in using, or using hard water containing much mineral components such as calcium, magnesium, etc., and also a method of sterilization or method of sterilizable cleaning by using them.

SOLUTION: This sterilizing detergent composition comprises (A) a cationic sterilizer, (B) sorbitol and (C) water, and further (D) a nonionic surfactant and/or (E) an amphoteric surfactant, and also the method of sterilization or method of sterilizable cleaning uses the same within a prescribed cationic sterilizer concentration range.
