PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which improves liquid diffusing property and absorbing property in a surface sheet, effectively prevents the return of body liquid, is full of cubic effect and has a high cushion property.
SOLUTION: In the absorbent article, the surface sheet 3 is composed of the nonwoven fabric of heat bonding fibers. Recessed parts 8 and 8, etc., and projected parts 7 and 7, etc., are alternately and adjacently formed by applying embosses in a prescribed pattern the recessed parts 8 and 8, etc., are the high density area of a relatively high fiber density, and the projected parts 7 and 7, etc., are the low density area of a relatively low fiber density. On the lower surface side of the surface sheet 3, a porous plastic sheet 6 which is more hydrophilic than the surface sheet 3 and on which many open holes are formed is disposed.
