PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition containing pitavastatin calcium salt in a crystal form which can be stably preserved for a long term even if it is not stored under a special storage condition and is useful as an active pharmaceutical ingredient for treatment of hyperlipemia or the like.SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical or veterinary composition includes crystals of pitavastatin calcium salt (excluding one having a melting point of 95°C by means of a differential scanning calorimetry) which has peaks at diffraction angles (2&thetas；) of 10.40°, 13.20° and 30.16° in an X-ray powder diffraction measured by using CuK&alpha； radiation, contains moisture of 5 to 15 wt.% and is represented by formula (1).【課題】特別な貯蔵条件でなくとも長期間安定的に保存し得る、高脂血症の治療などの原薬として有用な結晶形態のピタバスタチンカルシウム塩を含有する組成物を提供する。【解決手段】ＣｕＫα放射線を使用して測定するＸ線粉末解析において、１０．４０°、１３．２０°及び３０．１６°の回折角（２θ）にピークを有し、かつ５～１５重量％の水分を含む、式（１）【化１】で表されるピタバスタチンカルシウム塩の結晶（但し、示差走査熱量測定による融点９５℃を有するものを除く）を含有することを特徴とする医薬的又は獣医薬的組成物。【選択図】なし
