PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeding technology capable of enhancing reliability of feeding detection.SOLUTION: A feeding device includes a tray for feeding a livestock and a detector 12 which is provided above the tray and detects the feed retained in the tray. The detector 12 has a switch 13 which controls feeding and feeding stop, an operation plate 14 which operates upon receiving a pressing force from the feed, a protective wall 15 which is provided between the switch 13 and the operation plate 14 and protects the switch 13 from the feed, a first magnet 16 provided on the switch 13 side and a second magnet 17 provided on the operation plate 14 side so as to repulse the first magnet. The second magnet 17 is provided so as to be close to the first magnet 16 in conjunction with the operation of the operation plate 14.
