PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of a method for producing a processed product of a leaf of Magnolia obovata Thunb. containing active ingredients from the leaf of the Magnolia obovata Thunb. and, on the other hand, with suppressed bitterness, etc. SOLUTION: The method for producing the processed product of the leaf of the Magnolia obovata Thunb. comprises a step of drying the raw leaf of the Magnolia obovata Thunb., a first roasting step of roasting the leaf after the drying at≥100 and≤150°C and a second roasting step of roasting the leaf passing through the first roasting step at≥180 and≤250°C. A tea leaf of the Magnolia obovata Thunb. can be obtained by carrying out the steps. The resultant tea leaf has reduced bitterness components and a flavor and the active ingredients.
