PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing multiply layered epithelial cells without using feeder cells, and a multiply-layered epithelial cell sheet obtained by the same.
SOLUTION: This method for culturing multiply layered epithelial cells is provided by filling the both of upper layer part and lower layer part separated by a boundary of a porous membrane in culturing the epithelial cells on the porous membrane, and always feeding the medium from the lower layer through the porous membrane while the cells are cultured.
