PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a reduced photographed image while retaining information of minute lesions.SOLUTION: A calcification positional information extracting section 244 extracts calcified pixel positional information by identifying calcified pixels in an original image. A new pixel range computing section 245a computes new pixel ranges by segmenting the original image on the basis of a reduction ratio and by determining new pixels. A new pixel judging section 245b judges whether calcified pixels are present in the new pixel ranges on the basis of the calcified pixel positional information. When a new pixel is judged to be a calcified pixel by the new pixel judging section 245b, a new pixel value computing section 245c computes a pixel value of the new pixel on the basis of pixel values of pixels which are identified as calcified pixels in the original image and contained in the new pixel range. When a new pixel is judged by the new pixel judging section 245b to be a normal pixel, the new pixel value computing section 245c computes a pixel value of the new pixel on the basis of pixel values of the original image located within the new pixel range.
