PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel protein and a production process therefor.SOLUTION: The new protein binds specifically to the osteoclastogenesis inhibitory factor (OCIF) and has a high affinity thereto. The new protein can be obtained by preparing a cell membrane fraction from osteoblast like cell membranes cultured in the presence of a bone absorption-accelerating factor or stroma cells derived from bone marrow, solubilizing a membrane protein by a surfactant and purifying by using an OCIF-immobilized affinity column.
