PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breaking and malfunction of a chair type massage machine having a foot massaging device disposed in a lifted state relative to the front of a seat portion even if downward loads exceeding an allowance are applied to the foot massaging device and if the downward loads are suddenly relieved thereafter.SOLUTION: The chair type massage machine 1 includes: the seat portion 2 a backrest portion 3 mounted in the rear of the seat portion 2 the foot massaging device 5 set in the front of the seat portion 2 and an advancing/retracting mechanism 15 for advancing the foot massaging device 5 to a use position and retracting the foot massaging device 5 to a stored position. The advancing/retracting mechanism 15 has an impact absorbing mechanism 58 for preventing transmission of an excessive load to the advancing/retracting mechanism 15 when the excessive load, the downward load exceeding the allowance, is applied to the foot massaging device 5 held at the use position, and a position restraining means 80 for preventing the foot massaging device 5 from rising over the use position by the upward impact absorbing force transmitted to the foot massaging device 5 from the impact absorbing mechanism 58.COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT【課題】座部前方に対して宙に浮いた状態で足揉み装置が設けられた椅子型マッサージ機において、足揉み装置に許容を越える下向き荷重が作用し、その後、かかる下向き荷重が急激に解除されたとしても、当該椅子型マッサージ機が破損や故障に至らないようにする。【解決手段】本発明の椅子型マッサージ機1は、座部2と、座部2の後部に設けられた背もたれ部3と、座部2の前部に設置された足揉み装置5と、足揉み装置5を使用位置に進出させると共に収納位置に退行させる進退機構15とを備え、進退機構15には、使用位置で保持された足揉み装置5に許容を越える下向き荷重である過荷重が付与された際に、当該過荷重が進退機構15に伝達するのを防ぐための緩衝機構58が設けられ、緩衝機構58から足揉み装置5に伝達される上向きの緩衝力により足揉み装置5が使用位置を超えて上昇するのを防止する位置規制手段80が設けられている。【選択図】図1
