SOLUTION: A state monitoring system 1 includes a chair including a seat portion and an awakening device D that monitors the state of a seated person sitting on the seat portion, and a wireless communication terminal 2 that wirelessly communicates with the awakening device D. The awakening device D includes a biometric sensor 30 that detects a physical signal of a seated person, and a wireless communication unit 12A that transmits data based on the physical signal detected by the biometric sensor 30 to the wireless communication terminal 2.
