Leakage testing method for deep-drawing package i.e. half-open deep-drawing package, involves applying high voltage into air space, where high voltage leads to breakdown in air space, if tested deep-drawing package is not closed
The method involves driving an upper die (13) from above into molded shells (6) and positively driving a lower die (14) to a lower surface of the molded shells. A high voltage field is applied between flanges by a high voltage source. Each flange is assigned to the upper die and the lower die, where the high voltage field forms an air space within a region above and below the molded shells. A high voltage is applied into the air space, and the high voltage leads to a breakdown in the air space, if a tested deep-drawing package (1) is not closed. An independent claim is also included for a device for leakage testing of deep-drawing package.
